The light-coloured, uniformly textured wood is great for painting. The tray can be set up in two different ways:

Version 1: the bunny motif strip is attached to the rear side and the tray filled from front.

Version 2: the motif strip is attached to the front and the tray is filled accordingly from behind.

You’ll need in addition: some adhesive and if desired, paint, glitter, decorative elements etc.
