Kumihimo? Yes, you heard correctly! Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese form of braiding using multiple strands of cord and/or ribbon. With the handy wooden braiding disc and yarns, you can make cool friendship bracelets and much more besides.

The birchwood used is FSC™ certified and comes from sustainably produced, responsible forestry.

The instructions supplied with step-by-step illustrations demonstrate the braiding technique in detail, which is actually quite simple. Diverse yarns can be used. You'll also need scissors.

Whether young or old, weaving colourful ribbons is fun for everyone. To make a round cord, use the round braiding disc and to make a flat ribbon, use the square-shaped braiding disc. You can make cool friendship bracelets, key rings, bookmarks and much more besides.

TIP: For braiding and knotting, we recommend using our cotton yarn mix (item no.44 008 ...) with 12 skeins in wonderful colours.
