Instructions in 3 steps Whether for communion, confirmation or christening, or as a maritime decoration: the cast fish, once filled with wax, brighten up any festive table.

Besides the articles listed below, you also need: Mixing vessel, wax melter, masking tape or adhesive tape, paintbrush, scissors

And this is how it works:

Step 1

Cast the fish with Raysin and creative-cement 5in1 according to package instructions. Leave the castings to dry overnight.

Step 2

Paint a line about 5 mm wide along the bottom edge of each fish with acrylic paint (one in white, the other in grey). Apply a coat of Chalky ultramatt varnish to the inner side of the fish to prevent permeation of the wax when burning. Leave to dry once more.

Step 3

To fill the fish with wax, first melt the wax pellets in a wax melter. Secure the tealight candle wick in the middle of the fish by means of an adhesive wax square. Once the wax has turned to liquid, pour it carefully into both fish. However, make sure the wick stays straight (if neccessary, hold it back). The wax should then be left to cool to room temperature. If a dimple forms in the wax as it cools down, simply pour a little liquid wax into it.
