Pyrography – creative wood art
Pyrography is a traditional wood art for decorating wood, leather and cork. For the art of wood burning, you need a woodburning pen with assorted woodburning tips, as well as wooden items or leather and cork items.
Whether as a gift, as a decoration or to decorate plain wooden items - pyrography is a creative art that brings lots of fun and offers great results. Even children can use this technique to make and create great decorations under the supervision of adults, of course.
The handy woodburning pen can be equipped with a woodburning tips of your choice and is heated to approx. 500°C by cable feeding and electricity. You can then engrave wood, leather or cork with beautiful motifs, lettering or decorative patterns using the hot burning tips. The colour intensity of the burn pattern is determined by the duration of the burning process. This means that the longer the hot woodburning tip remains on the wood, the darker the colouring.
Tip: the finer and smoother the surface, the more beautiful and accurate the engraving will be. Therefore, make sure to sand down any wood surfaces that are too coarse before engraving.
For those who are unpractised and beginners in pyrography, we recommend making a few engraving tests on a piece of wood so that you can get a feel for the burning time and the pressure intensity.

Transfer paper with motif templates
In order to make the poker work easy, it is advisable to draw the motifs on the wood before engraving. Working with transfer paper is quick and easy. The transfer paper should be laid with the black side of the carbon paper onto wood, leather, canvas or fabric. Then draw the desired motif or lettering on the paper by means of a pencil. The black, non-washable outline is then clearly visible on the background and you can then easily trace the motifs with the woodburning pen.
Our ready-made templates with a wide variety of already drawn motifs and lettering related to the topic of wedding, kitchen, plants and much more, intended for all kinds of occasions, celebrations and events, provide you with a strong guarantee of success. The motif templates on transfer paper should be laid onto desired background and traced with a pencil or ballpoint pen. After pulling off the transfer paper, the black outline remains clearly visible on the surface out of wood, leather, canvas or fabric.
The transfer paper can be used several times until the carbon coating of the paper fades and the outlines become too faint when transferring.
